Merry Christmas!

This was one of our favorite photos from Evan's last shoot. We liked it so much, we put it on our Christmas card this year!

Holiday Time

Things have been very busy with the holiday rush, but we did find time to get Evan's 18 month photo portraits taken. These are just a couple of the shots we got. Perfect for the season!

Happy Halloween

It's that time of year again. Evan had a fun and festive Halloween season. We went to the Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield, where he had fun running around the pumpkin patch and taking his first hay ride. Then on Halloween, we spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Diebold. Grandma Caren made him this adorable pumpkin costume. And back at home, Evan got to try some candy. As you can see, he enjoyed it very much.

A trip to Estes Park

Evan spent his first weekend away from home, on a trip to Estes Park this month. He loves being outside, playing with leaves, rocks, dirt, pine cones... you name it! Oh, and he also loves dad's hat. He's quite obsessed with it lately.

Aloha!

No, we did not sneak away to Hawaii for a getaway. Although, that would be quite nice. We were invited to a Tiki party in Evergreen and told to wear our hawaiian shirts. I'm not sure how many opportunities we may have to be this matchy-matchy, so we had to take advantage of it.

Breakfast at the Mall

We took Evan to discover the breakfast playground at Cherry Creek Mall. He really enjoyed the eggs and french toast and playing underneath the bacon. It will be a while until he's big enough to jump in the bowl of cereal or slide down the bacon. He had so much fun... we can't wait for our next trip to the mall!

Baby Shower Quilt

At last, the final product of the baby shower quilting fun. It turned out so awesome! What a great keepsake for Evan to have. Thanks to Grandma Caren for putting this together and to Auntie Maureen for the great idea!

Look Who's Famous!

Mr. Evan James is getting pretty good at this photo shoot business. His last session went so well, the studio asked if they could feature him on their website. We're so proud of our little star! Summertime and the Livin' is Easy

Evan's been enjoying his summer so far. He's been spending alot of time at the park. He loves riding in the swing, pulling grass, playing with pine cones and watching the other kids play. He's also becoming quite the swimmer at the pool. He loves kicking his legs and making his floatie move. He's developing the cutest little tan.

Evan Goes to the Pool

We finally got a chance to take advantage of the nice weather and bring Evan to the pool. He loved the water and being out in the warm sunshine. Now, if only we could get him to keep his hat on.

Hangin' with Mommy

Evan is excited that the weather is finally looking like summertime! Mommy has all sorts of great adventures planned for him!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Evan. Happy Birthday to you! Wow, what a year! We can't believe how fast it's gone by. Evan has had so many excellent adventures in his first year with us. And his 1st cake was no exception. He wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but once he got a taste, it was all over!

Evan Goes to the Park!

With the fabulous warm weather last week, Evan had his first official visit to the park. Official, meaning that he was actually awake and now old enough to try out the swing! He wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but once he got going, he loved it. He also got to go down the slide for the first time. Another excellent adventure for Mr. Evan James!

Cruisin' for Bruisin'

Mr. Evan James continues to be very mobile these days. He loves cruising the furniture and all around the fence we have up in the living room. He also loves to practice standing on his own and is very proud of himself when he does! His latest favorite thing to do is roll and throw the ball back and forth with Mommy and Daddy.

Splish Splash Evan's Taking a Bath

Bathtime is one of Evan's favorite activities. He loves playing with his toys and splashing around. He also loves trying to jump out of the tub, so we might have to retire this old duck pretty soon.

Showing off the Pearly Whites!

Ok, so we've had teeth for about two months now, but this is the first chance we've had to finally get a picture of them! Evan has been enjoying his two new pearly whites, especially during mealtime. The latest additions to his diet include chicken, cheese and waffles. He's still a little unsure about the cheese (crazy, i know), but everything else we put in front of him, he gobbles up! No signs of top teeth yet, but it should be any day now!

Storytime

One of Evan's favorite activities is storytime with Mommy and Daddy. He loves the bright colors and especially loves turning the pages. His favorite book of the moment is Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? He also really enjoys Polar Bear Polar Bear What Do You Hear, Pajama Time and Good Night Moon. We think it's been helping with his vocabulary too, as he's been babbling alot of new sounds lately.

Let the Bumps and Bruises Begin!

So, this is Evan's new favorite toy. He loves everything about it... the wheels, the music, the fact he can ride on it! It's been the cause of a few bumps and bruises and of course he's found other ways to land on his head too. We've heard that it's just part of him learning to use his balance, but it's still very hard to watch. He's also using everything he can to pull up and stand... the couch, the gate, his toys. We're sure walking is right around the corner.

Evan's First Guitar Lesson

Evan has been very fascinated with his Dad's guitar lately. So, he got a little intro lesson. He's also been keeping busy with lots of crawling and standing up. Clapping and blowing kisses are still two of his favorite things to do.

8 month update

Evan has been keeping us busy this past month. He is getting around pretty good now, via crawling and scooching. He also loves to clap and is very proud of himself when he does. He's still a babbling machine these days... still saying 'mama' and has now added 'baba' and 'ga' to his vocabulary. He's also expanded his diet to include foods like black beans and carrots. I'm looking forward to introducing mango to him next. He loves the sweets!

More Christmas Fun!

It was a flurry of activity for Evan during the Christmas holidays. He got to visit with all of his grandparents and open lots of great presents! While he loved all of his new toys, he seemed more fascinated by the wrapping paper and ribbon. He had a blast and even got to stay up late to enjoy all the festivities!
